The Meaning of Fitness

Fitness is a state of mind -- it's an understanding of your personal reasons for living.  Before you start a new diet or exercise routine, it's important to consider what your inner goals are.

Easing Back Into Healthy Habits

Let’s make sure that getting back into the swing of a healthy lifestyle is something that adds to our pleasure and doesn’t add to our stress level!

Spring Cleaning for Your Mind

Albert Einstein knew the importance of this process when he said, “We can’t solve problems by using the same kind of thinking we used when we created them.” Here are some fun, simple tips to clear your mind.

Organizing Thought

It’s no surprise that the same principles that apply to organizing our homes also apply to creating anything we want in life.

Love and Health

Our health is affected by how much love we can express in our lives -- by loving our selves, our communities, and our world.  It’s about getting in touch with what we love and finding ways to express it.

Persistence:  Starting Over, and Starting Over Again...And Again

It doesn’t matter how many times we get off course.  If we simply continue to get back on again, no matter how gently or slowly we restart, sooner or later we will be making progress toward our goal.

Are You Fooling Yourself?

We are indeed fooling ourselves when we allow hidden beliefs to prevent us

from doing what we know is in our best interest. So how do we stop playing the fool?

Food for Thought and Thought For Food

When you study all of the reputable diet programs, you’ll find one thing in common, with few exceptions:  Eat whole foods with as little processing as possible.  The beauty of this philosophy is that it not only keeps your body functioning at peak performance, but it’s best for the Earth.

Mothering Our Selves

The essence of mothering is identifying our essential needs (physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual) and finding healthy ways to meet those needs. Mothering takes courage, intelligence, diligence, maturity and commitment.  It definitely requires a sense of humor. And it takes a heart willing to love and forgive.

Your Body Hears Every Word You Say

“Sticks and stones can break my bones but names will never hurt me.”  Or so they say.

Why Do Smart People Smoke?

It’s clear that on a conscious level, most smokers know that smoking is harmful.

So how is it that smart people can ignore all the evidence and continue to smoke?

Who Do You Really Want to Be?

Just as Halloween bears witness to the cycles of life, you can bear witness to the cycles in  your life. It's time to let go of who you think you are in order to become who you really want to be.

Past Life Regression: Is It Real?

The images that one's inner mind conjures up during a regression can be viewed and interpreted

in a number of ways, depending on your philosophical orientation, including but not limited to...

What is a Medical Intuitive?

Theoretically, a medical intuitive is someone who can “see” these invisible energy centers and

can get a sense of our current energetic state, telling us where we may have blockages and

areas of stuckness, or where there is a positive flow of energy. They can also “see” how

to release the blockages and...

Preventing a Stress Meltdown amidst Economic Chaos

by Bruce Cryer, CEO of HeartMath LLC

Our organization has been researching the stress-performance-health relationship since 1991. We’ve uncovered some startling information about how directly the stress of work pressure, particularly high stakes decisions traders face many times a day, affects us. Fortunately the news isn’t all gloomy.

Health Tip:  Small Things Make a Big Difference

A famous person once said, “Never underestimate what you can accomplish in ten minutes.” Here’s something to keep in mind: Did you know that the recommended “30-minutes-a-day” of exercise can be broken up into three ten-minute segments? Were you aware that only two minutes of focused, relaxed breathing can lower your stress level? Surprised to know that taking a mere five minutes to sit down and enjoy a meal will make you feel more satisfied than eating the same meal on the run?  So this Fall, think small! Ten minutes a day can add up to a healthier you – because right now, the world needs lots of strong, positive people!
