What Is a Medical
Intuitive?

I first heard
about the phenomenon of medical intuition thirteen years ago when I
read Women's Bodies, Women's
Wisdom by Dr. Christiane Northup, an OB/GYN.
Dr. Northup reported
how she occasionally consulted with Carolyn Myss, a medical
intuitive whose supernatural abilities to "see" the emotional bodies
of her clients, in person or even remotely, sounded both remarkable
and hard to believe, yet consistently proved to be medically
accurate, with advice that was profoundly helpful in their healing
process. Because of Carolyn’s insights, Dr. Northup was able to
help explain the energetic links between various physiological
symptoms and their underlying emotional or energetic cause.
In recent years,
science continues to validate the link between our emotional states
and our physiology. Advances in QEEG brain scans, neurophysiology,
and cellular biology all support the fact that stressful, fearful
states trigger our brains to release chemicals to our cells that may
be damaging over time, whereas relaxed, optimistic states trigger
the release of chemicals that aid in the healing process. Over time,
the cumulative amount of damaging or healthful chemicals in our
system influences our overall state of health and well-being, either
positively or negatively.
Of course, this
is only news for those of us who are grounded in the Western
scientific model of reality. Many ancient cultures have described
our energetic state with invisible energy centers located both
within and beyond the physical body, such as meridians or the chakra
system.
Theoretically, a
medical intuitive is someone who can “see” these invisible energy
centers and can get a sense of our current energetic state, telling
us where we may have blockages and areas of "stuckness," or where
there is a positive flow of energy. In theory, they can also “see”
how to release the blockages and tell us what to do to increase the
flow in energetic systems. Of course, if we are tuned in to our own
bodies, we can access this information on our own, but many of us
are out of touch.
Some medical
intuitives, like Marie Manuchehri, who will be speaking here at
Positive Central on May 19th, can also “see” and “hear”
disincarnate entities in the environment, much like John Edwards and
James Van Praagh. I know, it’s hard to believe, but the true test is
whether the information that comes through is useful and validating
for the individual.
I recently
experienced a personal session with Marie. I was invited to lie on a
massage table and experience some hands-on healing, and “tuning” of
my energy. It was wonderfully relaxing and nurturing. Marie
validated many of my own feelings and insights, and in many cases,
her description of what she was sensing helped me to better
understand and articulate my own sensations. This experience goes
beyond the analytical, as we learn how to better sense the subtle
energies in and around our physical bodies. No people on the other
side seemed to come through to talk with me, which made sense to me
since I don’t have a lot of connections with folks over there. I
definitely felt energy moving in my body, and left with a heightened
awareness of how I use my senses for intuition and understanding.
I'd have to say, it was better than a massage!
